zOMG! Gaiaonline - Splash Screen Contest

This is my contribution to a splash screen contest at Gaiaonline.

I kinda slacked off Gaia, and only logged on very sporadically. One of the reasons I lost interest was because they took down my favorite game on the site... zOMG!. That game was SO. MUCH. FUN! It was an MMO where you could join other players from the site, use your own site avatar, and fight cute to scary monsters by using rings with very different and creative powers. And then, in 2015 I think, they took it down "temporarily" for maintenance. Only to later announce that it was never going to be put back up... Apparently, there was a security issue with the game, and it would take time, staff and money to bring it back up. Gaia was under new management during this time as I recall, and they did not consider this game worth the effort. Most of the people who worked on the game, people that would be crucial in order to make it fighting fit again, didn't even work there anymore. I rarely get upset, but back then, I RAGED.   I had never been so blatantly lied to and ignored.

So I left. I visited the site now and then out of curiosity, but I never stayed long.   Then, something wonderful happened.   Gaiaonline's founder, Lanzer, came back. He personally tracked down one of the developers of zOMG! and together with a bunch of people they brought this beautiful bastard back from the dead!! I didn't believe my eyes when I logged on last weekend and saw the announcement. I didn't believe it until I was in the game, standing at the exact spot where I left off, with all my healer rings on (my favorite hobby in the game was to run around, buffing and healing random people). I heard the familiar music, and I literally started crying, because I'm apparently wired that way.

So there you are! And that's why I've spent all my freetime the last couple of days on this thing. I'm well aware of that I'm not gonna win 1st, 2nd, or even 3d prize. Other people have had over a month to work on heir contributions. I found out about this last saturday and the deadline is today. But I wanted to support the game's return by contributing at least something for this contest. At least I poured my heart and soul into it.
